The CPI(M) has expelled almost 50,000 of its dormant individuals in West Bengal in the previous over two years.
Gathering sources said the choice to do as such took after the enrollment criteria settled at the Kolkata Plenum of the gathering in December 2015. Preceding the expulsion, the CPI(M) had about 2.5 lakh individuals in the State.
Absence of customary interest in party exercises, age-related dormancy and affirmed terrorizing from the decision Trinamool Congress were "central point" all the while, sources said.
About 900 individuals were removed in Kolkata for "keeping up undercover associations with the Trinamool," a senior CPI(M) State panel part revealed to The Hindu.
"We presently investigate every possibility to avert passage of individuals who are probably going to end up liabilities for the gathering later on," another senior State Committee part said.
The drive to evacuate idle individuals was started by State secretary Surjya Kanta Mishra, senior gathering pioneers said.
